Standing Straighter

SophieMy name is Sophie I'm 19 years old and I'm a student at the University of Nottingham. I had back problems for years. I had a very hunched posture, which caused a lot of pain in my neck, shoulders and upper back. I also had sciatica in my lower, left back, which caused pain in my leg also.

Now, after 13 visits, I am standing up a lot straighter and feel taller. I have less pain in both my upper and lower back, but it is not completely gone so I continue to go for visits in the hope that I can become completely pain-free.

Enjoying the Newsletter

PatBryon, Good messages in this newsletter, which reinforces what has happened to me since attending the clinic. I gave up dieting just over a year ago; I had been on every conceivable diet including Atkins and not only put weight back on but got fatter each time. I have now lost three stone, as you are aware by eating what I always ate – good healthy food, but separating carbs from fats. I believe this has also improved my immune system together with the Chiropractic adjustments, as I feel so well that sometimes I am buzzing with energy and health.

However, I may have picked up or misread a message in one of the website articles in the past which confused me for a while – because I actually enjoy coming to clinic and each adjustment gives me immediate relief and wellbeing, I began to think I might be getting hooked on it! Reading the last newsletter and this one the articles makes more sense in that somewhere it actually says that even if you feel okay (i.e. have no pain or specific problem) you should still have an adjustment because it helps your body to work properly. I was feeling that it was like going to the doctor when you are well! Now I know that it still helps me to keep feeling well and the increase in my energy level is proof of this. I no longer feel guilty when I come bounding in for my adjustment. So thanks for the messages in this and the last newsletter articles, makes a lot of sense.

Regards,

Pat

Back and Neck Problems

Alan"Now aged 63 and retired after 40 years as a teacher and an active sportsman. Married with 2 grown up daughters and a granddaughter. I came to the practice suffering with back and neck problems which had been caused by numerous sports injuries over many years. I was having severe headaches 3 or 4 times per week and did not have much mobility in the neck. I had had to curtail or stop most of my sporting activities because of this. After several treatments I found I was getting more supple and had far more energy allowing me to start sports again. I am again very active - gardening, walking, biking and again enjoying DIY activities. Of the two treatments I have for my arthritis, the medication does have unpleasant side effects for which for I have to take more tablets, whereas there are no unpleasant side effects with Chiropractic treatment. As I tend to overdo things it is important to get Bryon to keep me supple and I therefore see him on a monthly basis. My wife is also a patient and our eldest daughter has decided to seek help."

Sales rep.

Steve'I have worked for many years as a sales rep, in the car for long periods. I am 56 years old. I have always suffered lower back pain due to an old football injury. However, I had been suffering for many months with acute pain in my lower left back/hip. I began treatment a couple of years ago in 2008. I am now much better, hardly any more pain. I have regular monthly visits, I feel they are beneficial to sustaining my pain-free back.'

One leg shorter than the other

Nick'I'm a 39 year old teacher who runs an after-school tuition centre. For some 21 years, I have suffered from hip and knee pain, brought on (I was told originally) by my right leg being shorter than the left. Regular visits have relieved a great deal of the pain. By coming back at regular intervals, I am able to detect the strength in my leg increasing.'

62 Years Young

PatI am a 62 year old woman, just retired from a secretarial job after 25 years - mostly spent in front of a computer.  30 years ago I trapped a nerve in my neck and  initially was put on traction .  This Caused an on-going and recurring problem, especially when doing a lot of driving. Neither hospital nor physiotherapists seemed to be able to make much difference and it wasn’t until I visited a chiropractor that I gained any lasting relief. I also slipped down stairs and hurt my coccyx, which caused recurrent lower back pain.  Regular manipulation by the chiropractor generally keeps my neck and back in working order with little pain and any problems that do arise are soon sorted.

Help in Pregnancy

JaneI am married with 4 children ranging from 16 to 3 years old and I work part-time as an Occupational Therapist in the community.  I had always had a lower back 'niggle' which became much worse during my third pregnancy. I also had pubis synthesis and ended up on crutches towards the end of the pregnancy! Post delivery I didn't have a day free of back pain.  After intensive treatment from Bryon, I did have pain-free days and went on to have my 4th child without any problems!  I feel that regular visits keep my 'niggles' at bay and prevent them from becoming long-standing back pain again.

Regular Visits

LizI am a part-time clerical worker and mum of two.  Prolonged sitting at a computer has put tension in my shoulder and back muscles, causing headaches and discomfort.  I have been visiting Bryon for over ten years to keep me mobile and stop stiffness and headaches.  If I don't visit, I seize up and in the worst case find it difficult to work altogether.

Holding Back The Years

MalI am a female patient, who works full time in a very busy Facilities Management position, which means I need to be active, which is not easy when you are 'holding back the years'.  I have experienced pain in my hips, shoulders and neck following a car accident a number of years ago.  At times, particularly in my  job, I experience 'flare-ups' of more significant pain.  I visit the chiropractor regularly - sometimes quite frequent visits (at times of particular pain) to manage my problem in a way no area of the NHS could.

Once you have tried it, you will never look back

MargaretI had long-standing low back pain which in turn gave me pins and needles in my right foot and cramps in my left calf. I had tried other things but nothing helped. I even tried a steroid injection but this did nothing for me. Bryon started treating me on a regular basis five years ago and without the treatments my body doesn't function properly. I think everyone can be helped by chiropractic treatment. I just wish I had known about it years ago as I probably wouldn't have had these problems if I had gone for treatment early enough. I think everyone would benefit from an early assessment and regular treatment. I can't imagine life now without treatments.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!

RogerHaving spent the last twenty years behind a computer I had developed a very hunched posture resulting in very painful neck, back, shoulders and chest, until I couldn't really focus on doing any work at all because it was so painful. In the end I decided I had to get some help and remembered having seen a Chiropractor when I lived down south who had helped me. So I searched locally and found Bryon Sanders at Cedar Chiropractic in Ruddington, Nottingham and made an appointment.

That was back in 2003 and Bryon helped me to get my back pain under control through a series of initial visits over about 3 months, and now I just have maintenance sessions every 3 to 6 months. As a result of treatments with Bryon I am pain free once again and have full movement of my neck, back, shoulders and hips, even though I still work behind a computer(albeit standing up these days!).

I would recommend Bryon to anyone suffering with similar conditions, and in fact a lot of my friends and family have also seen Bryon with excellent results.

It is exceptionally beneficial

BevIt has had a very positive effect on my general well being.

I had severe lower back pain, resulting in limited movement and disturbed sleep which on the whole made me feel very down and restricted in performing everyday tasks.

I now have my full mobility back, I am pain free and am greatly improved and although treatment is still ongoing I feel back to my normal self. I feel that regular chiropractic care is an essential part of modern day life.
